Supporting kids in our community for the holidays through Salvation Army

In Community Involvement, The Salvation Army by Steves Auto Repair and Tire

It’s the holiday season, and Steve’s Auto Repair & Tire is excited to participate again in this year’s gift giving programs for The Salvation Army.

“One of the organizations that we do like supporting throughout the year, but especially at this time of year, is the Salvation Army,” said Steve’s Auto owner ST Billingsley.

Billingsley put together stockings full of small gifts for children, which will be provided to children from five to 12 years old.

“Another program which is very good is, and is still a very big need right now, is the Angel Tree. The kids there are already vetted through the Salvation Army – they’re definitely kids and families in need in Prince William County,” said Billingsley.

For the Angel Tree program, the Salvation Army collects holiday gift requests from children in need, and places them on anonymous tags, that donors can pick up and use to fulfill the requests.

In 2016, the non-profit helped more than 6,000 families – roughly 14,000 children – in Washington, D.C. Metro area with the Angel Tree Program.

According to Billingsley, individuals can pick up the gift tags at Potomac Mills Mall and the Manassas Mall.
